I cannot believe my baby is 1 year old TODAY!! Wow....time flies!! I am taking a 1/2 day off work today and spending the rest of the day with Barrett. I can't wait! The big party is planned for Saturday and I have been running around like crazy trying to get the last minute things. Hopefully, everything will come together. Barrett's First Step

On Tuesday Barrett took his first 2 steps by himself. I was so excited. I ran and got my camera and started to video. Jarrod was not with us so I wanted him to be able to see this exciting moment. I cannot believe our baby is about to start walking!! We love him so much and cannot wait for his next milestone!!

Tonight we will be going out with friends to bid farewell to Junior & Holley Kelley. They are moving back to Jackson, AL and we are going to miss them so much! I am sure we will now be making trips to Jackson to visit. They are such great friends!! We will miss you!!

On another note...we have some very exciting news. Jarrod and I will be meeting with our real estate agent next Thursday to discuss putting our house on the market and moving on to bigger and better things. We have been in our house for 3 years now and are quickly outgrowing it. Not to mention, I am tired of doing laundry in "The Dungeon". My washer and dryer are in a laundry room off of our garage with NO HEAT/AIR. We are sooooooo excited!!! Hopefully I can blog about our new house in a few months!! Please pray it doesn't take long to sell ours.

TMI Tuesday Night

Tuesday night I had the pleasure of going to dinner with my Mom and her friends. There are about 10 ladies that get together once a month to catch up and have a little relaxation time. Barrett and I tagged along with them this month. We ate at the new Dreamland Barbecue downtown in the Alley and then walked down by the Riverfront and around The Renaissance Hotel. While we were at the Renaissance, my mom decided she wanted to go and see the pool on the roof of the hotel. Once up there...I knew exactly why she wanted to go. She immediately took Barrett out of his stroller and put him in the water (outfit, diaper and all). There were little water fountains in the pool and he loved them! I did not have my camera with me, but did take a few shots with my camera phone. As for the title of my blog...let's just put it this way...yes children, your parents do have SEX and they do talk about it with their friends!! OMG...TMI!!!

This past weekend Barrett and I decided to venture out to one of Jarrod's Baseball games. It has been so hot lately that we don't do this very often. In fact, this is only the 3rd game we have been to this summer. Well, as I pulled into the parking lot at Patterson Field the bottom fell out. I decided to wait until the rain slacked off a little to get out of the car. When it FINALLY did, I jumped out, unloaded the stroller, unloaded the baby, grabbed the diaper bag and my purse all in time for it to start pouring rain again. At this point I just decided to go on in so that Jarrod would see that I actually attempted to make it to one of his games. After waiting around for about 45 minutes they called off the game. Honestly...I was very happy. It was so muggy outside. Barrett and I would have been miserable sitting through an entire baseball game. We did get a really cute picture while we were waiting for it to stop raining. Barrett loves to play with his Daddy's hats and this is exactly what he was doing in this picture. Just thought I would share it with you. Hope you are having a great week!

Beach Trip

Okay...we have had a lot going on lately and I am just now finding time to update my blog. We went to the beach the last week of June. This was Barrett's 2nd trip to the beach. While we were there we ran into Jarrod's Aunt and Uncle. What a surprise!! We ended up hanging out with them 2 nights in a row. It was so nice to get to spend time with them and catch up. Barrett loved, loved, loved the swimming pool, but was not a big fan of the sand. Thankfully, Jarrod stayed back at the house with Barrett and the girls went to the beach most of the time. Thanks Jarrod!!! Here are some pictures of our trip..

We also have a much anticipated birthday party coming up in August. I cannot believe I am about to have a 1 year old!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways...I am busy planning his party. I ordered the invitations last week. They are soooo cute. It is all I can do to keep from posting some pictures that I took for his invitation, but I want it to be a surprise. I will post them after I send out the invitations.

Barrett's First Popsicle

Last week my mom and I decided it was time to give Barrett his first popsicle. Thinking that this was going to make some really cute pictures, I grabbed my camera and began to shoot. Well...the pictures turned out pretty funny. This is what I got...

The popsicle froze his hands and he didn't like that at all. We could not make him hold it by the stick. I guess we will wait until he is a little older and try again.
On another note, we just got back from the beach Sunday :( We had a great trip! I will post some pictures soon. Hope everyone has a great week. I am looking forward to the long 4th of July weekend!

My Best Friend

Tomorrow, Jarrod and I will celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. It has been an amazing three years. He is my best friend and I am so blessed to have him in my life. We are going to celebrate our anniversary at the beach this week. We leave tonight and will be back on Sunday. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!! I will think about you while I am laying in the sand. :)

Rubber Ducky You're The One...

This week I have been trying to get some cute pictures for Barrett's birthday invitation. Since we are having a rubber ducky theme party I figured it would be cute to have him in a tub playing with duckies. This was a little harder then I thought. As soon as I pulled out my camera he was trying to pull up on the side of the tub and grab it. I tried to hold him with one hand to keep him from slipping and take the picture with my other hand. It was quite an adventure!!Well....after putting 16 rubber duckies in the tub with him and about 50 pictures this is what I got. Maybe they will turn out ok on the invitation. I guess we will see!!!

Lately

I know, I know...it has been a while since my last post. Not much has been going on. We did take Barrett to the Georgia Aquarium last weekend and he had a great time. I thought he may be too young to enjoy it, but boy was I wrong. He loved looking at the fish!! His eyes would get huge when a big fish would swim by.
Also, my mom is back from her beach trip and Barrett was so happy to see her Saturday afternoon. When she left her name was "Grandmommy" now she is saying Barrett is going to call her "E-Momma". I guess we will see. Who knows...he might even come up with a name for her on his own.
We will be going to the beach next week with my parents and sister. I am soooo ready for a vacation!! Jarrod and I will also celebrate our 3rd anniversary on June 24th at the beach!!! Yay!! Jarrod proposed to me at the beach almost 5 years ago so it is a special place for us.
On a sad note....please pray for The Mcleod Family this week! Ashley was one of my sorority sisters and her brother, Trent, was killed in an accident on Sunday. I cannot imagine what they are going through right now and they will need lots of prayer in the weeks to come.
I am in the process of planning Barrett's 1st Birthday party and hope to post how the planning is going in the next few weeks. We are going to have a Rubber Ducky theme party. I cannot wait!!
I hope everyone has a good week!!

Vitiligo Update

Ok, so I started my Extrac Laser treatments last Wednesday and just wanted to give everyone a little update. The doctor said they would like to do at least 30 treatments. Repigmentation should be seen by about 12-15 treatments. I go for my 4th treatment today. Each treatment last about 3 minutes. I go on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week during my lunch hour. I still do not know if insurance will pay for it, but the Doctor said it is usually not a problem. The laser is like a EXTRA strong tanning bed light, or at least that is what it feels like. Each place that the laser treats turns red and feels like a sunburn. It is not painful at all. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is going to work.

Anyways, on another note, My mom and her sisters leave for the beach on Saturday for a "cousin reunion". I really wish I was able to go but they said "no children allowed". Oh well, I will just hold out for our beach trip at the end of the month. Jarrod and I will be going to Georgia on Friday afternoon to see his family. I am hoping that we get to take Barrett to the Georgia Aquarium on Saturday. I know he still a little young, but it beats sitting around and doing nothing! As everyone knows, I cannot stand to sit in a house. I like to be on the go all the time. Well, I hope everyone has a good rest of the week. I will keep you updated on my progress with vitiligo.

Polka Dotted Arm Pits

Ok, so many of you know I have a skin disease called vitiligo. For those of you who do not know what this is....it causes parts of my skin to loose pigmentation and turn completely white!! When I say white, I don't mean just skin with no tan, I mean like purple white. As of right now, it is on my underarms and around my eyes. Yesterday, I went to see a dermatologist in Birmingham who I was referred to and told she might be able to help me out. After receiving a lecture from her about going to the tanning bed and being way too dark, she told me that she would like me to have laser treatments on the parts of my skin with no pigment. She set me up an appointment for next Wed. to see a doctor here in Montgomery who will be doing the treatments. She said it may or may not work, so I guess we will see. Now...here is the bad news...she said there is no way she can keep it from spreading to other parts of my body. She said the most common spots for it to spread are, around the mouth, hands, feet, boobs, and well....lets just say your private areas. Or, as a friend of ours calls it "sister". Yeah....not so happy about that news. I will keep you updated on my progress. It should take about 10 treatments with the laser to see a difference. I will be doing 3 treatments a week. Please pray that it does not spread. I will have to go into hiding if it does :) On another note, my husband only has 3 days left of work and then he will be off for the whole Summer!!! I am very bitter about this :) It is not fair at all, but I will get over it. Maybe I should go back to school and get a degree in education. They seem to be off all the time, and if they aren't off all day they have 1/2 days at least once a week. :) Well, that is it for now. Have a great rest of the week and LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!

Blogging...everybody's doing it.

Ok, so this seems to be the new way to keep in touch with friends and family so I am going to give it a try. Jarrod and I have been married for almost 3 years now and we have one son, Barrett, who keeps us very busy. Jarrod teaches physical education at Holy Cross Episcopal School, coaches baseball at Montgomery Academy, and cuts grass on the side. Needless to say, he is a very busy man. I am an insurance agent at The Whitecotton Agency, but most importantly I am a mommy to Barrett. Well....that is a pretty much it in a nutshell. I am going to do my best to update my blog weekly, but I can't make any promises. This is all new to me.
