Polka Dotted Arm Pits
Ok, so many of you know I have a skin disease called vitiligo. For those of you who do not know what this is....it causes parts of my skin to loose pigmentation and turn completely white!! When I say white, I don't mean just skin with no tan, I mean like purple white. As of right now, it is on my underarms and around my eyes. Yesterday, I went to see a dermatologist in Birmingham who I was referred to and told she might be able to help me out. After receiving a lecture from her about going to the tanning bed and being way too dark, she told me that she would like me to have laser treatments on the parts of my skin with no pigment. She set me up an appointment for next Wed. to see a doctor here in Montgomery who will be doing the treatments. She said it may or may not work, so I guess we will see. Now...here is the bad news...she said there is no way she can keep it from spreading to other parts of my body. She said the most common spots for it to spread are, around the mouth, hands, feet, boobs, and well....lets just say your private areas. Or, as a friend of ours calls it "sister". Yeah....not so happy about that news. I will keep you updated on my progress. It should take about 10 treatments with the laser to see a difference. I will be doing 3 treatments a week. Please pray that it does not spread. I will have to go into hiding if it does :) On another note, my husband only has 3 days left of work and then he will be off for the whole Summer!!! I am very bitter about this :) It is not fair at all, but I will get over it. Maybe I should go back to school and get a degree in education. They seem to be off all the time, and if they aren't off all day they have 1/2 days at least once a week. :) Well, that is it for now. Have a great rest of the week and LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!

Blogging...everybody's doing it.
Ok, so this seems to be the new way to keep in touch with friends and family so I am going to give it a try. Jarrod and I have been married for almost 3 years now and we have one son, Barrett, who keeps us very busy. Jarrod teaches physical education at Holy Cross Episcopal School, coaches baseball at Montgomery Academy, and cuts grass on the side. Needless to say, he is a very busy man. I am an insurance agent at The Whitecotton Agency, but most importantly I am a mommy to Barrett. Well....that is a pretty much it in a nutshell. I am going to do my best to update my blog weekly, but I can't make any promises. This is all new to me.
